my goal here is for a surface evocative of the growth and accumulation of minerals and other metals as they might occur on the surface of a geyser vent or thermal vent in the ocean...
I don't want them to seem controlled, but rather to appear naturalistic and lacking the clues and methodology of their origin... lacking in the traditional notion of craftsmanship and all it's permutations and presumptions... I'm hoping for an organically grown appearance from layering and accumulation  over time... randomness, naturalness and most importantly energy... lots of it...

Studio...

"When you start working, everybody is in your studio--- the past, your friends, enemies, the art world and above all, your own ideas--- all are there. But, as you continue painting, they start leaving, one by one and you are left completely alone. Then, if you are lucky, even you leave."

Thoughts on plates

different thought on plates...
I love the "river" effect of pouring glaze over the open surface
there is movement, randomness and an easy form of texture,
here with just a hint of decoration... restrained decoration...
we'll see soon how this works
this majolica glaze is pesky, but they're in the kiln now!
