Vases and the fall

vases are starting to empty
as the flowers begin to fade
still waiting on the monkshood though
they always stand tall against the coming change...

Wet Oval Lava Jar

Wet in the Studio
Oval Lava Jar w/ Notch Lid
the lid was just made and will require sanding and refinement
when it dries more and can be easily handled...
the notch compensates for the irregularity of the hand formed lid
requiring return to the proper place...
the now flexible lip also helps with fit adjustment...
the kiln often changes all this, so I try to do a fine job of it now
hoping the kiln and I are seeing things the same way during firing...
we'll see...

The Twins

6:02 am, dawn...
the twins in the lower yard...
they walked up on a Raven,
reached down to sniff  and touch it...
the Raven allowed this and then flew off!
never imagined I'd see that...
Wyatt still sleeping unfortunately...
magic here, every day...

searching for lichen

more from experimenting...
I'm searching for a surface quality similar to lichen growth
something seemingly fragile, yet tough enough
to hold up over time...
this is close, now for some attempts with color...
one problem.... it doesn't show much, if any ash interaction...???????

Outside In...

through the looking glass, outside in...
while the pots are drying inside,
the bees are busy on the outside...
the globe thistle are full of hard working bees...
