Rock Caddy w/ Lichen...

from today's test kiln...
I'm thinking these are really beginning to have the surface quality of the thermal vents
which inspired all this raw volcanic work of mine
or perhaps a geyser's  mineral encrustation surrounding it's vent...
they're awfully close if not there already...
celebration is in order!

the Rastas

the Rastas, here in morning mist, are on full display now
I love these guys,
but there seem to be no double decker ones this year
how curious...

Plates

from the first load in a larger kiln...
this test has left me with more questions than answers...
I wanted the pouring of the glaze to be visible beneath the lines, forming a field of linear variation in density over glaze variation of different density... think that's here... but still wondering about this?????? and of course there are those pesky smudges...
more tests...

thank you for all you have given all of us
thank you for the beauty and energy you and your work offered us

traveling into and being embraced by the light of the world beyond...

Tray w/ biscuits...

Sunday biscuits for Wyatt
today almond/cherry
on a new earthenware tray
if he doesn't wake up soon they'll all be gone...

Wedge Fan Tray

Wedge Fan Tray
the test kiln broke down yesterday...
the switch terminal wires fried...
constant use probably didn't help
age contributed a lot also
everything I have is old...
so... replaced all the connectors and it's back in business... I'm lucky... testing continues...
now fired properly I have this small tray...
again... stark, old looking and perfect to show you how life indeed can be a bowl of cherries...
