that's right, it's a mug folks...

testing continues...
a stark, varied and irregularly applied white
multiple layers with the textured clay showing through
a wonderful soft feeling in the hands
fingermarks around foot
very nice and smooth on the lips...
pretty much, the list...
so why is decoration in my head????

Pickle/Olive Server...

Making Progress
Pickle/Olive Server
1.75in.H x 8in.W x 4in.D
I'm liking this
it has what I'm looking for...
fat, semi-translucent white,
minimal quasi oribe style decoration
feels good in the hand...
prices will be posted once I've successfully managed to produce
more and a variety of objects...
cups, mugs, plates and other servers, etc... in something beside the test kiln... then I can get bigger!

something old, something new...

well look at that...
sometimes change takes you places you wouldn't have expected
sometimes looking back is looking forward
better living through chemistry perhaps...
should be able to have some fun with this
a version of Scott Goldberg"s " recession blue"... lichen style...

Iron Shino Cup

made a new friend...
iron shino over black shino on white clay
simple, restrained and quiet...
old school
the amber liquid
floated beautifully in this last night...

yellow iris

I took this a few days back to send to a friend as a good morning
couldn't help but share it though
the remnants of the rain are great...

Blackberries...

blackberries flowering along the walk to the gallery...

Testing, Testing...1, 2, 3

let the real earthenware testing begin...
these pots are in the bisque kiln and firing...
now with some actual pieces I can really find out what I need
and work on  how to get it... we'll see...
wish me luck, I'm going to need it... it's a long process...
