Oval Bottle/ 2 Spots
Oval Bottle/ 2 Spots
Cream over Blue, Green and Lime Stripes
13in.H x 12in.W
SOLD
the basket like woven quality of these is undeniable, but what fascinates me are the ghost stripes,
those very faintly visible as the cobalt overpowers them...
after a while a landscape quality emerges as if the greens and limes are floating in the fog, coming and going with the ambient light...

Oval Bottle w/ blue and Yellow Stripes
Oval Bottle w/ Blue and yellow Stripes...
12in.H x 12in.W
White Earthenware cone/04
SOLD
this one in a different direction
directly out of a summer, long ago,
spent making simple pots with lots of stripes
the Creamy crackle mutes the color significantly
the yellow is barely discernible
yet in good light shows through
looks old, like milk paint
providing nice contrast with the red earthenware and its richer tonalities...
continuing to explore ideas contrary to my wood kiln work
as I reach for survivability...

Ochre Small Shot Cup
Small Shot Cup
3.25in.H x 3in.W
Earthenware Cone 03
a nice resolution for me of the foot glaze issue
and the feel in the hand with continuity there...
though I'll be back to wadding them all
and using shells...
more time, but a small price to pay for a good result...
I always try to keep it simple
it just never seems to stay that way...
