Old Church Pottery Show
paper work and images have just been sent in for the old church pottery show
time moves so much more quickly as it moves along
and I of course move so much more slowly...
already I'm wondering what work I should bring
and what will come along in these next 6 months...
should it be something new again... that didn't work so well financially...
a combination of all of it?????
or wood pots exclusively... that hadn't worked so well in the past either, financially...
times are a' changing...
one might think, by now, I could just say screw it to the financial considerations,
what a dream that would be and once was... yet now it can remain only a dream...
there are those who suggest that considering sales should never enter into the discussion period,
I was once one of them...
somewhere in these 40 years that consideration crept in and refused to leave
no matter how often I tried to kick it out of the room and say goodbye...
as I said...I move much more slowly these days...
we'll see...

Summer/Fall Workshop Schedule
I'm happy to announce the summer/fall workshop series here at my home and studio...
these will be hand building events, with the idea that you will work throughout the weekend with my assistance to improve your skills, lose some fears and learn how to heavily texture slabs and then make some great pots with the results... I'll demonstrate hump, tube, clay mold and wooden shape techniques to offer you a variety of ways to quickly improve your abilities and help you achieve some scale you might not have felt comfortable reaching for... my idea is to create an immersion experience where through working, talking, eating and cooking together for 3 days we learn a lot and share in the joy of making pots in a nice atmosphere...
Weekend Workshop Dates: July 20-22....Aug.17-19....Sept 14-16
Cost: $300 + $75 for food...all clay included
Week Intensive / Immersion Date: Oct. 12-18
Cost: $700 +$175 for food...all clay included
I have 4-5 available beds here in my home for attendees, tent space on 36 acres for the young at heart
and B&B's in Rangeley Maine, 20 minutes up the road for more private lodging...
we'll eat well, celebrate and have a great time...please consider it...
spend some time in the summer or fall in the western mountains of Maine...
